This booklet contains 20 pages in black and white.

This booklet is a learning resource designed specifically for neurodiverse learners to help develop listening skills, attention and understanding of instructions. The aim of the booklet is to help children practice listening carefully and following step-by-step instructions while completing coloring activities.

In each activity, the teacher or parent reads a set of instructions aloud, and the learner must listen carefully and follow each instruction to complete the picture. Children may need to color objects, circle items, or draw an X on specific objects in the picture.

This activity format strengthens listening comprehension while keeping learners engaged through visual tasks.

Sections / Themes included in the booklet:

The booklet contains several themed listening activities where learners follow instructions to complete the picture.

1. Summer

Children listen to instructions and complete a summer-themed picture.

Examples of instructions include:

• Color the sun yellow.
• Color the beach umbrella red and yellow.
• Circle the watermelon seeds.
• Draw an X on the cooldrink.
• Color the sand bucket red.

2. Autumn

Learners complete an autumn picture by listening to instructions such as:

• Color the tree trunk brown.
• Circle the three flying birds.
• Color the apples on the shirts red.
• Color the leaves orange, yellow, and red.
• Circle the cup in the picture.

3. Winter

Children practice listening and following instructions in a winter-themed activity.

Examples include:

• Color the snowflake light blue.
• Circle the two penguins.
• Color the snowman’s scarf red.
• Draw an X on the hot chocolate mug.
• Color the tree green.

4. Spring

Learners listen to instructions about a spring scene.

Examples include:

5. Classroom

Children follow instructions related to classroom objects.

Learners follow instructions in a market-themed picture.
